The first Coravin® Wine Preservation System was created in Greg Lambrecht’s basement machine shop. He was dreaming of a way be able to drink just the perfect glass of wine, without having to drink an entire bottle before it oxidized. As an expert in developing medical devices, Greg was able to design a Needle that he could insert through the cork without damaging it. Argon gas would flow through the Needle into the bottle, pressurizing it and allowing wine to flow out and into his glass. Then, when he removed the Needle, the cork would naturally reseal, as if it were never opened. Now, he could drink a sip, a glass, or more, without ever removing the cork!
